On June 9th, ZUEL-SUR School of Law and Economics, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (“LES”) held a grand inauguration ceremony. It is the first Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools institution in China in the field of law and economics, which is committed to building a highland of internationalization level ahead of the development, the deep integration of the disciplines of economics, law and management of foreign-related talents cultivation.
LES is a Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools institution, which was co-founded by Zhongnan University of Economics and Law(“ZUEL”) and Sapienza University of Rome, Italy (“SUR”). Its predecessor (Sino-Italian Institute) was the first Sino-Italian higher education cooperation unit established after Italy announced its support for the “Belt and Road” initiative. With the aim of serving the political, economic and cultural exchanges between Italy and China, LES adheres to the principle of deepening cooperation and promoting discipline construction、faculty exchanges and talents cultivation between the two universities, and educating first-class international talents through joint discussion, construction and sharing.

It is reported that LES was approved by the Ministry of Education as a Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools institution in April 2022. Due to the epidemic, one year after the approval, the School held a formal inauguration ceremony, and the Chinese and Italian sides witnessed this moment together on site.
